In the beginning, Yak Attack came up with the slogan Because We Fish. Well, it is catchy and exemplifies the fact that Yak Attack is a company that knows what a kayak angler needs because they are kayak anglers themselves. I have thought about what it means to me and for that reason I became curious as to what it meant to others. I asked some of my fellow teammates what it meant to them and I was surprised at how their sentiments all seemed to hold commonalities with my own feelings on the topic. While I could spend all day writing on my feelings, I thought it would be more meaningful to share theirs.

Through retrospect and reflection of what Because We Fish means to the kayak angling community, YakAttack models their actions by these three words through: The production of rigging solutions that will withstand the rigors that anglers who “live their lives” on the water will encounter. The desire to give back to the angling community through giveaways, open product testing opportunities, and donations for causes that help our waterways. The advancement of our beloved sport and those that have left their physical and/or emotional beings on the battlefield in the defense of our freedoms. The promise to put out only the best products. When you purchase a Yak Attack item, you know that your hard earned cash is going to the highest quality; most innovative product money can buy. It is going to a belief that American made is the best made. It is the knowledge that you are supporting a local economy, not some fat cat overseas. Because We Fish is truly a lifestyle. Not only does it define a company, but it defines a sport. It defines my reasons for pursuing my passion. It is one way I can share my stoke and show my support to a company that has done so much to give back to our community. So the next time I’m asked why I will drive 6 hours for that next bite or take a new friend out to experience what nature has to offer, my response will simply be BECAUSE WE FISH.
